Christie Lyman Dowling is an attorney and mediator with more than a decade of experience, most recently as a partner in one of the largest law firms in Alabama. She earned a degree in Human Development and Family Studies from Cornell University and earned her law degree, cum laude, from Georgetown University Law Center. As a thoughtful Birmingham divorce attorney, she is caring and compassionate with the experience to handle even the most complex family and financial issues. Ms. Lyman Dowling is a volunteer mediator in the Birmingham Courts Mediation Project and a certified guardian ad litem for Alabama's children.

She is also specially trained and registered as a domestic relations mediator with the Alabama Center for Dispute Resolution, which was established by the Alabama Supreme Court. And most recently she has been trained as a collaborative divorce lawyer pursuant to the standards set by the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals.She is a founding board member of the Birmingham Collaborative Alliance.

She is also a member of the Alabama State Bar, Family Law and Alternative Dispute Resolution Sections, the Birmingham Bar Association and the Birmingham Women's Exchange. Ms. Lyman Dowling is admitted to practice in state and federal courts in Alabama, Georgia and Virginia.  She currently serves on a legislative committee regarding collaborative divorce legislation.
